Birthday Staycation At Oakley Court

Oakley Court has been on my list of places to visit for quite a while. As I turned 29 in August and didn’t want to do anything crazy this year. I actually didn’t want to do anything at all, so I thought now could be a great time to finally visit Oakley court, which is the perfect place to do.. nothing!

Ok so there is things to do there of course if you wish to do activities and not sit and drink rose all day like I did. Tennis, boat rides health spa etc. To be honest I was just happy to take some time out and put my phone down. Obviously I still made some time to shoot some content, the interior of Oakley Court is just too good to not shoot anything. It was recently revamped by Alex Eagle and there is such a tasteful mix of colours, vintage furniture mixed with modern art.

After spending the afternoon of my birthday sitting by the river, drinking rose, eating pizza and playing dominoes we were still full by the evening. We went to the main restaurant for a light dinner.. and more wine. I had the caviar jacket potato which was really good. You don’t need to book any of the restaurants if you’re staying in the hotel you can usually turn up and they can accommodate. The only restaurant you do need to book is an Asian restaurant called Akira. we had this booked but didn’t realise you share the table and dining experience with others so we cancelled this as being my birthday, I wanted an intimate dinner.

I know Soho Farmhouse is a very popular spot for summer staycations in the UK, but I personally actually prefer Oakley Court. Its less busy, more of a relaxed vibe, the staff are lovely, the only thing missing is the outdoor pool that farmhouse has.

I left feeling very full, well rested and wanting to take all of the furniture & decor home with me! We will defo be returning to Oakley Court.
